Dr. Chandra Smallwood, if we’re being formal, which we usually aren’t around here.
I’m a licensed pharmacist, a confidence coach, a born-again Christian, and a solo mom of three little ones who somehow decided that starting a candle company in the middle of all of that was a completely reasonable idea.
It was.
Soft Chaos wasn’t born in a boardroom or a business plan. It was born in my kitchen, in a season of my life where everything felt like too much and not enough at the same time. I needed something to make with my hands. Something that smelled like the life I was building, not the one I was surviving.
So I started pouring.
And what came out wasn’t just candles. It was a whole philosophy, this idea that women, especially mothers, are never just one thing. We are soft and we are chaotic. We are tender and we are fierce. We light candles in quiet moments and we keep going when the quiet doesn’t come.
Every scent in this collection came from somewhere real.
A feeling.
A memory.
A version of myself I was trying to hold onto or finally let go of.
I make these candles in small batches, by hand, with a coconut soy blend I spent way too long perfecting because I refused to compromise on a clean burn.
I built this brand for women who are doing the most and still making their homes feel like something.
For mothers who deserve a little luxury in the ordinary.
For anyone who has ever needed a candle to just set the tone.
